Some forms of Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy are:

Tri-Est - is a combination of three different estrogens:
estriol, estrone and estradiol.
Bio Identical is prepared by a compounding pharmacist
specializing in natural products.
Tri-Est is available in capsules, topical creams, troches and suppositories.
Natural progesterone is available in suppositories, capsules, creams or troches
Micronized testosterone is available in capsules, creams or suppositories.

Why use Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement?

The main benefit of using bio-identical versus synthetic is that the bio-identical preparations are compounded to the amounts usually produced by the body. The dose of the hormones may also be adjusted to meet the needs of the individual, as opposed to the "one size fits all" approach of some synthetic hormones. The bio-identical hormones are made from natural plant sources.

Are you a candidate for Testosterone Hormone Replacement?

If testosterone levels drop too low, the result can be loss of
sexual interest, assertiveness or energy, which can create problems.
The addition of a small dose of testosterone orally or in a topical cream
can help alleviate these problems.
However, not all women need testosterone therapy.
Ask your doctor or compounding pharmacist for more information on testosterone.

Women who have not had a hysterectomy always need to take progesterone al0ng with estrogen therapy to reduce their risk of cancer of the cervix and uterus. The creams available over-the-counter are not a good source of progesterone. Talk with your doctor or pharmacist about your therapy.
